National Whale & Dolphin Watch 21 - 29 August 2004

HWDT working together with SEAWATCH FOUNDATION for

National Whale & Dolphin Watch 2004

This summer - between 21st and 29th August 2004, the Sea Watch Foundation are inviting YOU to take part in the UK's National Whale and Dolphin Watch.

Who can help?

Anyone - literally anyone who wants to and who is in the UK on Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th August. So, whether you are a family planning a trip to the coast for the weekend, a group of friends travelling on a ferry in UK waters, an individual out sailing for fun, or just near the coast - you will have the perfect opportunity to take part. Your input will help give us a "snapshot" view of the status and distribution of the many cetaceans in our coastal waters.

In many regions of Britain , sightings of whales, dolphins and porpoises will be infrequent. Please do not let that deter you. Negative information, so long as effort and environmental conditions have been recorded, is just as valuable.

Please report your sighting in brief (date, time, location, species and group size) preferably by email to info@seawatchfoundation.org.uk , otherwise by telephone on 01865 717276 or 0776 556 6102 as soon as possible after the sighting so we can place it on our website over the National Whale & Dolphin Watch Weekend for all to see.

Subsequently, please send your completed sightings form(s) to: The Sea Watch Foundation, 11 Jersey Road , Oxford 0X4 4RT, U K. All sightings from the National Whale and Dolphin Watch will be posted on this website after the event.
