Re-think
what you buy - this can help our
marine environment including
whales,
dolphins and porpoises!

Buy
products which have the least packaging
- this reduces the chance of marine litter (that's any rubbish
in the sea).
Did
you know that by taking your own bag to the shops
you are reducing the chance of a whale, dolphin or porpoise's
life being put in danger? Marine litter is a major hazard to cetaceans
and other animals in the oceans. Thousands die from ingesting
(eating) plastic bags or getting entangled in marine litter every
year. Try saying 'no bag thanks' when you buy products! Every
little helps and it's really that simple. Tom the turtle would
be proud of you!

Be
careful not to buy shells and corals as holiday souvenirs.
Many are endangered because so many are collected and killed to
sell as souvenirs. Don't contribute to this - buy something else
instead!
Talk
to your parent's about buying environmentally friendly cleaning
products for your home. This would be great because these
products are made from plant extracts that don't have any bad
effects on wildlife. Other cleaning products and soaps when washed
down the drain cause harm in rivers and the oceans.
