Sperm Whale

The sperm whale is the largest toothed whale in the world. It is also the deepest diver, going down to depths of 3,000 meters for up to 129 minutes. This enormous whale has a very distinctive square head which is filled with spermatceti (a milky white substance), and it is famous due to its central role in Herman Melville's Moby Dick. They are a grey colour all over and can look brown in some lights. The sperm whale also has the largest brain of all creatures weighting in at 7 kg.
