Killer Whale

The Killer whale ( Orcinus Orca ) is the largest of dolphin. Easily identified black with white patches and underside. Greyish white areas behind the dorsal fin are known as a “Saddle patch” which is unique in each whale and can help identify individuals. Males have the tallest dorsal fins in the animal kingdom (up to 6ft tall). This whale is found in every ocean in coastal and offshore waters and has even been seen in estuaries. They are the top predator of the sea and have a very varied diet. Most time is spent in social groups known as pods.
