Northern right whale

The northern right whale is the most endangered of all the great whales. The whale's name comes from the whalers, who named it due to the animals being the “right” whale to hunt. As the whale swims slowly, floats when it is dead and contains high quantities of oil and baleen. The bulky northern right whale is black in colour with white patches on the chin and underside and they also have a large head in comparison to their body size.
