
Common Seal
Common seals are marine mammals that spend most of their life at sea, but also enjoy basking in the sun on rocks or beaches.They are also known as the harbour seals. They feed on sandeels, white fish, herring and sprat. Seals swallow large chunks of food they don't chew. Common seals have short thick fur and can grow up to two metres in length and up to a weight of 170kg.
